Figure Skating Federation of Russia (FFKKR) couldn't hide their bewilderment of Korea's official complaint on the result of Sochi Olympics. In his interview with R-Sport and other sports media on the 16th, Aleksandr Gorshkov, the president of FFKKR, said that he couldn't understand why Korea had made the official complaint.
President Gorshkov started the interview by saying that "I am in a similar position as you [reporters]. I was not notified on the exact contents of Korea's complaints."
After explaining the contents in details to Gorshkov, the Russian press insisted on a reply. The contents of the official complaint from Korea are as the following:
1. The issue where one of the judges Alla Shekhovtseva is the wife of Valentin Piseev, the former president and current general transparentor of FFKKR. Also, the embrace she has given the Russian skater Adelina Sotnikova right after the game.
2. The issue where one of the judges Yuri Balkov was suspended for a year in the past.
3. Other controversies of the judging panel such as suspicion of biased scoring.
On the issue of the replacements of the judging panel, Gorshkov said that "before the short program, I was briefed in detail that 4 judges will be replaced as 5 of them will be remaining for the long program. This is a frequent occurrence in figure skating events. I do not understand why [Korea] will have a problem with the replacement.” He continued that “if someone had a problem, he or she could bring up the issue that instant. I didn’t hear anyone voice a complaint.”
On the issue brought up by US Today concerning Yuri Balkov, Gorshkov said that “I was not aware of this issue at the time. He was one of numerous judges that were selected. Even if he was suspended, that was a long time ago.”
On the question about the plan hereafter, he replied it by mentioning it was a very reporter-like question.
"What is there for me to say? As the president of FFKKR and as an individual, there is nothing I can do. I haven't received any official content from the ISU or the KSU.”
Even after performing a clean performance at Sochi Olympics last February, Yuna Kim has receive a silver medal giving doubt on the fairness of the scoring while Adelina Sotnikova received the gold. The skepticism on the fairness of the scoring, the advantageous selection of the judges to Sotnikova, and other controversies are being raised not only locally but internationally as well.

러시아 피겨연맹의 알렉산드르 고르쉬코프 회장은 16일(현지 시간) 러시아 스포츠언론 소브스포르트-R스포트 등과의 인터뷰에서 "한국 측이 왜 제소했는지 이해할 수 없다"라는 입장을 밝혔다.
고르쉬코프 회장은 "나도 지금 당신들(기자)과 같은 입장에 있다. 한국 측이 어떤 부분에 대해 제소했는지 정확히 전달받지 못했다"라고 먼저 운을 뗐다.

하지만 러시아 언론 측이 내용을 설명하며 답변을 추궁했다. 한국 측의 공식 제소 내용은 '전 러시아피겨연맹 회장이자 현 러시아피겨연맹 사무총장 발렌틴 피셰프의 부인 알라 셰코프세바가 심판으로 참여하고 경기 직후 러시아 소트니코바와 포옹한 점', '심판 중 하나인 유리 발코프의 과거 자격정지 경력', '그 외 심판들 간의 편파 채점 의혹' 등이다.
고르쉬코프 회장은 심판이 교체된 건에 대해 "쇼트프로그램 경기가 열리기 전, 프리스케이팅에는 4명의 심판이 교체되고 5명은 쇼트와 동일하게 들어간다고 자세하게 전달했다. 피겨 경기에서는 늘 있는 일이다. (한국 측이)'심판 교체' 건을 문제삼는 이유를 이해할 수 없다"이라면서 "불만이 있는 사람은 그 자리에서도 즉시 항의할 수 있다. 하지만 당시 한국 측은 물론 불만을 표한 사람이 있다는 이야기는 전혀 듣지 못했다"라고 설명했다.
이어 'USA 투데이'가 제기한 유리 발코프 심판에 관한 내용에 대해서는 "당시에는 그런 내용을 몰랐다. 많은 심판들 중 선택된 것이며, 설령 과거 자격정지 사례가 있었다 한들 매우 오래전 일"이라고 답했다.
'향후 어떻게 대처할 것인가'라는 말에 대해서는 "참 기자다운 질문"이라면서 "정확히 내가 말할 수 있는게 뭐가 있겠나. 러시아 빙상연맹 회장으로서든, 개인적으로든 전혀 할 수 있는 게 없다. 국제빙상경기연맹으로부터도, 한국빙상연맹으로부터도 이에 대해 공식적으로 전달받은 내용이 전혀 없다"라고 답했다.

김연아(24)는 지난 2월 소치올림픽 피겨스케이팅 여자 싱글 종목에서 클린 연기를 선보이고도 심판의 석연찮은 판정에 따라 아델리나 소트니코바(17·러시아)에 이은 2위를 차지했다. 이후 프리스케이팅 심판진이 소트니코바에 유리했다, 김연아의 연기에 대한 채점이 제대로 이뤄지지 않았다는 등의 비판이 국내외에서 제기된 바 있다.
